Torque & Drive - Porsche Wales Ascent, June 2026

If you're searching for the ultimate Porsche driving tour in Wales, incredible mountain roads, breathtaking scenery and a welcoming community of fellow enthusiasts, our Torque & Drive Wales Ascent was exactly that.

Organised by Miltech Auto Performance, our Dorset-based independent Porsche specialist, the Wales Ascent brought together an amazing group of 9 Porsche owners for a weekend of unforgettable driving, spectacular scenery and great company.

More than just a road trip, it was a celebration of everything that makes Porsche ownership so special.

Leaving Dorset for the Mountains of Wales

The adventure began bright and early as our convoy departed Dorset, heading north towards the stunning landscapes of Wales.

With route plans loaded, fuel tanks full and excitement building, the group enjoyed some of the UK's finest driving roads, carefully selected to showcase the performance, balance and character of every Porsche in attendance.

From flowing A-roads to dramatic mountain passes, every mile reminded us why these cars were built to be driven.

Incredible Welsh Roads

North Wales is renowned for some of Britain's best driving roads, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

Sweeping bends, open mountain scenery, picturesque villages and stunning viewpoints created the perfect backdrop for a weekend behind the wheel.

Along the way we stopped regularly to take in the scenery, enjoy a coffee, capture photographs and simply appreciate both the cars and the incredible surroundings.

The weekend wasn't about speed—it was about enjoying every mile, driving responsibly and sharing the experience with fellow enthusiasts.

Staying at Plas Weunydd

Our home for the weekend was the fantastic Plas Weunydd Hotel in Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Nestled within the spectacular Snowdonia landscape, the hotel provided the perfect base for the group and was an ideal place to relax after a full day's driving.

Even more impressively, the hotel sits next to Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, home to Velocity 2, Europe's longest and fastest zip line. Watching riders launch across the former slate quarry added another memorable talking point to an already incredible weekend.

The stunning scenery surrounding the hotel made it one of the highlights of the trip, and it's certainly somewhere we'd happily return to.

Amazing Cars

One of the best parts of any Torque & Drive event is the variety of cars.

From beautifully maintained classics to modern high-performance Porsche models, every vehicle reflected its owner's passion and enthusiasm.

There were endless conversations about maintenance, modifications, future plans and favourite driving roads, with everyone learning something new over the course of the weekend.

It's Always About the People

Whilst the roads and scenery were spectacular, the people are what truly made this trip unforgettable.

Everyone immediately got on with one another, creating exactly the relaxed, friendly atmosphere we hoped for.

New friendships were formed, stories were shared over breakfast and dinner, and there was plenty of laughter throughout the weekend.

At Miltech Auto Performance, we're passionate about building a genuine Porsche community—not just servicing the cars, but creating memorable experiences for the people who own them.

The Wales Ascent perfectly captured what Torque & Drive is all about.
